Brendan Bannon

The camera has been Brendan Bannon’s passport to new engagements with the world.  In the midst of a successful career as a photojournalist Bannon founded www.mostimportantpicture.org to collaborate with marginalized communities and amplify their voices through photography. 
He continues to design and lead educational projects for combat veterans, refugees, cancer survivors and others.

Dr. Anthony Bannon

Anthony Bannon is an arts writer, winner of Britain's Royal Society of Photography J. Dudley Johnson Award for leadership in criticism and historical research.  He is a senior scholar and emeritus director at George Eastman Museum, the world's largest and oldest private archive for photography and motion pictures located at the Eastman estate in Rochester, NY. Bannon also served as director of the Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY College in Buffalo, which holds the art and archives of the American watercolorist Charles E. Burchfield, the largest dedicated collection in the world. Bannon has solely authored or contributed to more than 40 books, most recently "William Coupon: Portraits" with Walter Isaacson, and "Traces: Photographs by Roman Loranc with Poems by Robert Lax." Forthcoming in July is "Beatitude: A Beat Attitude: Photographs By Joey Tranchina," with Steidl Verlag.  In recognition of his writing and institutional leadership, Bannon earned the Golden Career Award from FotoFusion in 2007. Arnold Drapkin, the former picture editor of Time Magazine presented the award with this comment: "Most important, he is one of the most efficient and effective museum directors today."

David Burnett

DAVID BURNETT grew up in Salt Lake City, where he began taking pictures for the high school yearbook.  Upon graduation from college (Colorado College ’68 Poli Sci), he began a long relationship with LIFE and Time magazines.  It was for the latter that, in 1969, as a 22-year-old tyro, he covered Apollo X, XI, and XII, and became forever enamored of the space program.  In 1976 he co-founded Contact Press Images, the international photojournalism agency, which distributes his work around the world.  Along the way he has photographed every American President since JFK, covered thirteen Olympic Games, and produced countless stories of everyday life on all continents. He is based in New York, and is pleased that his dog’s Instagram (@theycallmelittletyrone) has more followers than any of his friends. 

Keith Carter

Keith Carter’s work has explored time, place, and vernacular culture for over fifty years, as well as having been exhibited in over one hundred fifteen solo exhibitions in thirteen countries. Sixteen monographs of his work have been published, along with two documentary films: Keith Carter: The Artist Series, Ted Forbes and A Certain Alchemy, Anthropy Arts. A new monograph: Ghostlight, was published in 2022, a fifty-year retrospective book, Keith Carter/Fifty Years was published in f2018. In addition, Carter has contributed to nine other anthologies over the years. He received the Lange-Taylor Prize from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, and was the recipient of the Texas Medal of Arts. Described as a "Poet of the Ordinary" by the Los Angeles Times, Carter’s work has been featured on the nationally televised program CBS Sunday Morning. Carter’s photographs are included in numerous private and public collections including the National Portrait Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the George Eastman. He has held the Endowed Walles Chair of Art at Lamar University in Texas for thirty-three years, where his awards include the University's highest teaching honors; the Regents’ Professor Award and Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Prize.


Susan Currie

Susan Currie is a West Palm Beach-based poet with a camera. Her words and images have been exhibited at the Yawkey Cancer Center at MA General Hospital in Boston, the Photoplace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, the Touch Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts and also featured in the Boston Globe, Still Point Arts Quarterly, the Huffington Post, Artists Magazine, L.A. YOGA Magazine, the Tishman Review and in assorted other literary journals. In addition to these endeavors, Susan serves as a Corporator for the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts and as an ambassador for Lensbaby. 

Susan is the author of ONCE DIVIDED (Shanti Arts, 2016), GRACENOTES Shanti Arts, 2018) and breathtaking (Shanti Arts, 2019). Her new book SUPERFLOW will be released in 2021. Susan is also the creator of CHARMCODES.

Jack Davis

For over 35 years, Jack Davis has been one of the world’s leading experts on Digital Photography and Computer Imagery, with over a million and a half award-winning books sold in twelve languages. Jack routinely teaches at conferences and workshops around the world, and for companies like National Geographic/ Lindblad Expeditions. He is designated a Master Teacher by Adobe and was one of the first inductees into the Photoshop Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to the industry. He has an MA and MFA in Digital Imagery from San Diego State University, where he was the founding computer graphics instructor. And when he’s not in his studio in San Diego California he’s usually somewhere in Polynesia, with a smile on his face and a camera (and phone) in hand!

Dennis Dimick

Dennis Dimick got his first camera at age 8, was a photographer for his college newspaper, and has been a journalist for nearly 50 years. He was a newspaper photographer and picture editor for six years, a picture editor at National Geographic for 35 years, and the magazine’s environment editor for a decade. Dimick has been on the Missouri Photo Workshop faculty for 25 years, and since 2018 has taught environmental journalism at the University of Oregon. He received the 2014 FotoFusion Golden Career Award, and the 2013 National Press Photographers Association Charles M. Sprague award for service to photojournalism.

Sean Duggan

Seán Duggan is a fine art photographer, author, and educator. Through his writing and teaching, he has been helping photographers master digital photography and digital darkroom techniques since 1996. He leads workshops and seminars at venues across the country. He is the host of Mobile Photography Weekly, as well as many other online courses on Photoshop and digital photography on Lynda.com, and he is the co-author of Photoshop Masking & Compositing, Real World Digital Photography, and The Creative Digital Darkroom. Jill Enfield

Jill Enfield is a fine art photographer, educator, curator, and author and has been teaching photography for many years with a concentration on historical techniques and alternative processes. Her three books: Photo Imaging: A Complete Guide To Alternative Processes published by Amphoto, and, Jill Enfield’s Guide to Alternative Processes: Popular Historical and Contemporary Techniques (First and Second Editions), published by Focal Press, are award winning books, and used in schools all over the world.  The books include step-by-step instructions on a variety of techniques including: wet plate collodion, dry plate modern tintypes, platinum and palladium printing, cyanotypes, liquid emulsion, albumen printing, hand painting, and more. Jill’s fine art images can be seen in many museums around the world as well as in private collections.

Ramiro Fernandez

Ramiro Fernandez began to collect images of Cuba in 1980,  Published - I WAS CUBA (2007), Chronicle,  Cuba Then (2014,2018) Monacelli-Phaidon.  During his 25 years at TIME INC he was Photo Editor at Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, People en Español and People.  Ramiro started to collect in Spring 1980 while doing a temporary secretarial job at the Museum of Modern Art - Department of Photography.
